At ANNOVA, we’ve always believed that thoughtful design can make everyday moments more enjoyable and this belief guided our recent donation to The New England Center for Children (NECC). What started as a simple request for a few forks quickly grew into a meaningful opportunity to support students in a way that truly matters.
Why We Care
Some of our family members have autism, and designing flatware that is functional and easy to use has always been close to our hearts. Our flatware features easy-to-hold handles and sensory-friendly designs, which help make mealtime more independent and enjoyable. So when NECC reached out asking for a few forks to replace ones that were frequently discarded, we knew we wanted to do more.
Going Beyond the Request
Instead of sending just a few utensils, we donated 40 full sets of flatware, along with globes and organizers for NECC’s classrooms and residences. It was important to us that these items weren’t just functional but could also bring a little joy and ease into the students’ daily routines.
The Impact
At NECC, every detail can affect a student’s learning and comfort, even something as simple as a fork. Knowing that our flatware can help students enjoy their meals more independently is incredibly rewarding. This experience reminded us why we started ANNOVA: to create products that are both beautiful and purposeful.
